What do BCHS students say about being in choir?
Why should you sing in choir?
- Scientific studies show that singing makes your life better! Just ask a choir student how they have seen this to be true in their own lives.
- You will have fun every day and make lots of friends.
- We go on field trips!
- You will become more confident.
- You will become a better singer.
- You will become part of a strong legacy of excellence.
Who can join the choir?
- Any student at BCHS can be a part of the choir!
- Open to grades 9-12 and students at various levels.
- No singing experience is required. You don't even have to be a good singer (yet) to be a successful member of the choir.
Do I get any credits for being in choir?
Yes! Being in choir will satisfy your required fine arts credit required for graduation. The honors choirs are also on a weighted grading scale, helping improve your overall GPA. Each semester students receive one credit for singing in choir.
Will choir fit into my schedule?
Most students are able to fit choir into their schedule for all four years! Many of our students are involved in the following in school and out of school activities:
- Dual Enrollment and College Classes
- AP Classes
- Other electives such as art and photography.
- After school activities (This year football, soccer, cheer, archery, swimming, baseball, track, basketball, forsensics, Academic Team, FBLA, art club, musical, a cappella group, etc.)
- Part time jobs
